I broke my speedo
So I was puttin LED's in my dash and I accidentally twisted my spedometer needle. I got everything back in (the LED's look nice) and my speedo stays stuck on 0. What do yall think I need to do? It's a 2001 SR5 if it helps.

how do u think u broke it?
what exactly did u do to the needle?
make sure the needle isn't pressed to far down and is agaisnt the face. this might keep it from moving ( happened on a camaro)

ok so I opened her back up yesterday to see if there was anything I could do to it. I tried cleaning the leads with isopropyl, making sure it wasn't rubbing on something, staring at it for half an hour, etc. Not only does it still not work, but the odometer has now quit working.
I don't know if it is related, but about the same time the speedometer quit working, the VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights came on. This may be unrelated though as I've had trouble with them before (got an oil change and a Jiffy Lube employee ripped all the wiring out of my wheel well to get to the filter, needs a routine dose of electrical tape).
Any new ideas?
Thanks for the help so far.

If all that electrical wiring was messed with and you then noticed multiple lights coming on the dash, this may be a bigger problem. The failure of the odometer got me thinking too: the speedometer and odometer are linked to the ABS sensors, I believe, to keep track of mileage and MPH. Maybe one of those wires that was ripped out at JL is one of the wires causing your problem

No, the Jiffy Lube incident happened a while ago. I was just saying that VSC may or may not be related. It could be coincidencidental that the VSC cables have come loose again.
But that does make sense, because I think when both VSC lights come on it means ABS system may be off too. Does the speedometer and odometer connect to the ABS system in the dash? It could have been me that messed up a connector.
