How's This OME Setup?
I'm hoping this is specific enough that it wouldn't be considered redundant, because I know there are 5 million OME threads, but here goes:
Slee Offroad offers this setup for 4Runners: 2 x OME 881 Front Coil Springs (Can be substituted for OME 882 Heavy Springs) 2 x OME 890 Rear Coil Springs (Can be substituted for OME 891 Heavy Springs) 2 x OME N91S Shocks 2 x OME N85 Shocks http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/...htm#4%20Runner Ben at Slee definitely has me sold on the versatility and general good-deal, good ride, best deal for the money(~$940 all told)-ness of the whole thing, but I figured it might be worth running it by you folks for some more opinions. Thanks! |

you can get all the OME stuff, AND a diff drop, AND trim packers for under 550 from Mike @ extreme off road..... install it your self for free, and save 450 bucks.
Also, go with the HD coils. you'll be glad you did. Last edited by Stegall984R : 03-04-2005 at 10:57 AM. |

I have had Ben do my front ARB bumper and manual hubs at slee's. he is a great guy and very knowledgeable. From what I gather you don't wrench on your rig, hey that's ok sometimes it's best left to the pros. My only input for you is to plan ahead and try to see where your truck will be in 6 months or a year down the road. Mods like bumpers, sliders, winch, or anything that will change the weight of the truck. This may change the type of springs and shocks you choose. Hope this helps. OH!! one more thing you could see if you can get some of the local yota guys to help you put your stuff on, trying to save you some $$ Doug

I don't know about the front OME, but that is the rear OME setup I have and I love it. I would definitely recommend it!

Actually, Ben said they go straight for the heavy springs so adding a bumper (etc) later on down the line will work perfectly. Looks like next weekend! |

How do you guys think the OME coils (881/882) would fare with a set of Bils? I can save about $80 going this route.

I figured that would be the case and thanks for the quick reply. I'm now looking at the pros and cons of both the OME and the Bils/PP spring setup since they cost the same. My truck is a DD so on-road performance is also a consideration.

progressive springs up front w/ OME struts is INCREDIBLE on and off road. 1.5" w/ the coil springs only. 2.0" w/ a single top spacer 2.5" w/ a double top spacer |

If you want better cornering performance you can get larger sway bars to prevent roll but ride is great as is.
