I just got mine weighed and the guy said 4800lbs. Subtract 150 for me, 75 for a chair in the back and 50 for my sliders ( I'm guessing the sliders weigh 50lbs more than the stock running boards) and that comes out to 4525 lbs.

(I didn't have my tool box and hilift on and I figure my rear bumper weighs pretty close to the stock bumper plus a hitch).

I glad this came up again because I thought the guy might have been wrong, but it doesn't appear so. If the stock weight is supposed to be ~4000lbs, I can't think of anything on my truck that adds 500lbs.

where would be the cheapest place to weigh your truck? I'm interested in seeing how much mine weighs in at.

the dump - free

The last time I was there the truck trailer combo I was driving weighed in at 9200lbs empty! (K3500 chevy diesel xtra cab pulling an 18' double axle bumper tow trailer)

I felt so sheepish only having 600lbs of yard waste on the trailer and using such an overbuilt truck to move that small load! LOL

But yeah weighing your truck at the dump is free!

In Washington, you can weigh your truck at state weigh stations when they aren't being staffed. I don't know if you can do that in CA.

4300 lbs with me in it (165 lbs). Don't have many weighty add-ons, mostly tools, tire chains, etc.

4660 last time my '85 was weighed, configured as listed below:
http://www.4crawler.com/4Runner.shtml#Vehicle

You can look in the phone book under "Public Scale" to find a place to weigh if the local dump/recycling center/truck stop is not available. My weight cost $8, got both axles separately.

Anyone with a 3rd gen 4runner have front & rear weights? I'm curious if the distro is close to 50/50 and haven't been able to find that info anywhere.

I think my truck was less than 3500 lbs last time I weighed it. 1950 front axle, 1450 rear axle. I should weight it again, since I have done some mods since.

It depends on the truck, I know a dodge 1 ton single wheel extended cab with a cummins weighs around 8000 pounds, mainly due to the 1100 pound engine...

I would guess that a full size regular cab truck with a v-8 would weigh in at about 5500-6500 pounds, just a guess.
