One possibiltiy is that if you were driving along at highway speeds (torque converter locked), and then slowed to a stop and the truck stalled, it could mean that the converter didn't unlock for some reason.

Or it could be any number of different sensors on the truck, TPS, MAF,etc.

Is the idle speed adjustable on that engine?, maybe it's set too low.

I managed to stall mine out this afternoon while trying to climb a +-40 degree grade in 4 low. VSC kicked in and it cut off. Go figure?

That's not the kind of "stall" he's talking about.

I stalled my auto 4runner once. I was well street racin. Came to a abrupt halt on a red light. Than It just stalled, so it took me awhile to take appropiate action.

My speed sensor messed up a couple of months ago. I started the truck, pulled foward taking off, rolled about 6 feet and the truck stalled just as if I had let out a clutch on a manual. Come to find out, since the ECU didn't know how fast the truck was going, it sent a signal for the transmission to lock up the torque converter. Since I was going so slow----STALL!
