how do diff drop spacers work

im lookin under my truck because i have to put some on...and it looks like after i add the spacer the cv angle will still be the same because there are other bolts that look like they hold everything in the same place.. so how does this work.. anyone have a pic on an 02 4runner with it installed?

If you have a 2nd gen, the front diff is held on at 3 points. The diff drop spacers go on the 2 rear points and pivot the diff housing down, thereby making the CV angle less severe. I installed mine and my CVs are much happier.

But if you're a lucky owner of a newer model, I'm really not familiar with how they work, but it can't be that much different.

They go in on the arm bracktes of the front differential. It really does push down the angle.

Is there an issue, or did you just need to know how they worked?

Just installed my diff drop kit on my 96 last night. I'm running a 3" Revtek lift kit and the previous owner didn't put on the diff drop. So, our local 4wheel parts place had the Revtek driff drop kit in stock. I already had my skid plate off so it only took about 20 minutes to install. I was amazed at the smoother angles in the cv's now, it looks a ton better. Great mod for $25.

Very cheap insurance. Not saying you can't still break your CV's, but it's alot harder to if you have a diff. drop.
