How the dealer screwed me today
Installed a rough country lift kit a couple weeks ago. Finally got around to having the alignment performed. I dropped the truck at my local dealer. They called me to report the tie rods were seized and the rack is "showing signs of being bad...if I would authorize $1325.00 they would have it fixed in a jiffy. I told them that I would return after repairing the rack.
They set the camber and charged me$75.00
I replaced the tie rod ends over the weekend and brought the car in for them to finish the alignment. They charged me $75.00 again!
That said, They were right about the tie rod ends. I couldn't separate them even after removal...tried the torch, penetrating oil, hammer, vice....No Joy.

sounds about right. they charged you again because you had them work on it twice - ANY shop would have the same policy. yes, even if you didn't get a "full alignment", they did still work on your camber the first time. if you didn't want to pay twice, you should have just had them skip the first day's work if you were coming back again anyways.
this is why i am a firm believer in paying slightly more for a Firestone lifetime alignment - for around $175 i can get alignments as often as I like without having to pay again, until I sell my rig. something like this pays for itself when you're dealing with IFS parts on a truck that gets wheeled and needs parts replaced/adjusted often.
