how badly will these rims/tires screw up my truck?

hey guys,
i have a 99 2wd 4runner (5speed, 4cyl)
how badly will i mess up my speedo/mileage/power if i upgrade from my 15" stock steel wheels to 18x8" 265/70/18's?

i read in the FAQs that i can install these and they will fit. (i guess 265/75 is the cutoff).
anyways, it says i will lose power, and screw up my speedo, and mess up my fuel economy.

just wondering if anyone has jumped up that high?
and what the effects were/are....

ive got a really good deal lined up on the 18s, and if it would all work out i might jump on it.
thanks in advance,
TJ

also, i have a set of daystar rear coil toppers (2.5") that im going to install, (as soon as i find the front set somewhere for sale...)

p.s. if anyone knows of anyone selling them, or where i can buy the front lift spacers, please let me know.

(no need for the "spacers are crap..blabla" - i know that - but i live in south florida, theres no off roading, and its a 2wd truck.)

what size are your current tires? The 265/70-18 will be approx 32.6"

thats a huge tire and wheel combo... everything will be off.... msut consider the weight of a combo like that, braking power will be greatly diminished, power in general will lack, gas mileage will decrease unless you regear, but even regearing will still need to deal with extra weight and gas mileage will never be what it was with the stockers.....

265/75 is the cutoff for a 16" wheel, not an 18", that is a whole 2 inches larger.......

depending on the weight of his current wheels the weight difference might not be that bad the 18"s might be lighter if they are alloy . We dont know what size his current tires are to know how much difference the total diamater will be.

he is planing on instaling a spacer lift , any ways I dont know what he would want that tire size anyways . usualy if you go with a larger wheel you run less tire height to compesate for the taller wheel. Im sure they will fit with enough lift and trimming cause a 33" tire is a 33" tire

hey guys...
thanks for all the info.
im not exactally sure my stock size tires right now. all i can tell you is (as was said) its a 2wd with the poopy stock (lowest option) rim available (as far as i know, the only oem toyo 4runner 15 incher)
but, yeah, idealy...i doN'T want to go to an 18" rim and tire. but like i said, its a very good price. theyre actually 18" oem nissan armada rims, with the stock tires.

is it a fair assumption that a 16" toyo rim with 265/70s would be alright as far as power and mileage go?
also, i understand that upping your rim size +3 would require a stock brake upgrade. would this also be nessesary with a +1 rim upgrade?
thanks a bunch guys.
