How bad was this clutch?

I just got back the 4runner today from 4wheelparts, centerforce dual friction clutch was installed, and flywheel was resurfaced. It drives great. The clutch is a little firmer, but I like the feel. Here are pics of the old stock clutch. Im wondering how beat up it looks, and how much longer I had on it. I have no idea what im looking at.

If there is a way you can put up a picture of the clutch disk (on the left) at an angle, it would be helpful (close up). Initially, the clutch disk (on the left) in the first picture appears to have a significant amount of wear and heat damage for 5K miles (I think 5K miles is what you said earlier). Also, the backside of the pressure plate appears to have heat damage too. The big question is: Why was the clutch slipping?

Do you ever drive around with your left foot resting on the clutch pedal?

A picture from the side would be more helpful. We need to see the edge of the disk some more. How much longer...anything would be a guess. I think you said 5th was slipping. It would only be a matter of time before 4th, then 3rd, then you couldn'r really do much without slipping all the time.

hope these are better. it was slipping pretty bad in 2nd through 5th. the clutch had approx. 5k on it. the way it was slipping....when i would be cruising at about 2k on the tach, and then floor it, the rpms would shoot up with no resistance.

that thing's wasted! you can see where it's wearing off the rivets!

when i pulled my old engine out, there were fragments of a previous clutch in the "pocket" between the engine plate and the block. looked like somebody tried to sidestep it at 5000RPMs.

I swear by my centerforce D/F clutch. But I think it may of been adding a new heavier flywheel at the same time. I got 8 years on this setup, and still going turning 33's. I used to go thru clutches yearly.

And yes , the pics of the shiney rivet heads means it was toast. Just like brake shoes.
