I have been having the hood support slipping out out of it's hole since I bought the 99, another problem is when I pull the hood release, I could hear the "click" but the hood didn't actually pop out, so I had to use the tip of fingers to dig it up and to find the manual release, pull it then lift the hood. It's not a big deal but it's just bothers me specially in the winter.

I ordered "Redline Tunning" hood strut kit from Jason B. couple months ago, it came with all the hardware needed plug a very detailed instructions, boy I have to say I spent more time reading it than doing the install.

It's a very simple job, maybe 10 minutes per side and that's the end result.

All the parts are good stuff, I'm very pleased with the quality.

There's one thing I would change if I have to do it again.
Instead of using a 3/16" drill bit, try to find a step drill and it works much better. the very first hole i drilled, the drill stop didn't work, and it made a small critter on the hood even I was really careful,

and the finish of the hole isn't quite clean. Then I switched to a step drill, not only it didn't damage the hood, also it left a very clean surface to install the rivets, easy as a pie.

You guys can do what I did. I got a set of hood struts off a 90's land cruiser and fitted them to my hood. Cost me $50
