Homemade TJM???
How time consuming and cost effective might it be to have my own front bumper fabbed up, with the cost of sheet metal and the average labor charges do you think it might be cost effective over a TJM or ARB? Sorry I know it's a strange question but I was just wondering

My opinion would be this:
If you are a welder yourself, then I'd say, why not. Take a shot at it.
However, if you're not and you're going to be looking for someone to fab this up, then I'd rather buy one done already.

Labor would cost too much. It'll cost just as much if not more than to buy one. The only way a homemade bumper is feasible is if you make it yourself or have a friend make it and pay him in beer.

i would just buy one already made up. i went through the trouble of getting a custom rear bumper and i dont think i woudl do it again in all honestly. too much hassle, and the price was a bit extreme.

being an industrial engineering minor i can tell you mass-production is the only way they can keep prices reasonable, the time invested by a pro-welder to get the same level of quality and fit would cost you alot more. if you could get your hands on a real TJM and take intricate dimensions for each piece maybe you could pull it off, but who wants to go through the trouble?
