Question high revving idle... help!

My 94 toyota 22re just started doing this today. After driving for a bit then coming to a stop, or just pushing the clutch, the rpms stay up near 2 grand without my foot on the pedal. If i tap the gas it will go down to normal idle (around 750). Has this happened to anybody else? Does anybody know what it could be??

94 eh?

I rule out a vacuum leak, as tapping on the gas resolves it.

So my thoughts:

1) Check to make sure the throttle cable isnt getting hung up on the outside of the channeled "crank" that attaches to the throttle body. (tough one to describe, there.)

2) Gummy Throttle body. Can you reproduce the throttle not returning all the way with the engine off? (do so by manually opening the throttle at the engine)

Cant think of anything else.

I know what you mean by the "channeled crank" i'll check that out. I havn't looked under the hood yet. A wile back i replaced a part that made my trucks rpms return to idle speed VERY slowly. I was wondering if this part could have gone bad again.?
