High angle cv shaft's

My dad got a 3 inch spacer lift from daystar. we got the front end alighned, Had it professionally installed and everything. but the cv boots tore right were the little metal band holds it down on the inner boot on both sides. So my question is where can I get some high angle cv shafts or do I just need the boots?

And I searched and came up with boots but they didn't answer my question.

i have the same problem, just installed manual hubs to prolong the life. whats the vehicle?

Thought about it but was wondering if I could get something in the boots area because I have to take them out anyways and replace the boots.

diff drop WILL help.. there is a company out there that makes high angle cv axles but the cost is hellatiously high and I can't remember who it was. I swore RCV Performance had some at one point but they don't look to have any now. OffroadSolutions makes some high angle boots. haha thanks scub.. i never gotten anything from them and didn't even notice that. Guess I should have looked at the home page Well I dunno who else sells those but I'm sure someone does.

The RCV CV's should work, I say should because both the 95.5-2004 Tacoma and 96-02 4Runner both run the 7.5" front diff. I emailed RCV a couple weeks ago to see if my assumption was correct but they haven't gotten back to me yet. But they are VERY spendy @ $585.00 PER SIDE!!

oh yeah, i forgot about the diff drop. that is probably your best bet, coupled with manual hubs.

I can't find a 2'' diff drop. They don't look hard to make it's just a spacer, bolt, washer, and a lock washer. Should I do that or is there a reason they don't go over an inch?

yea a diff drop is probably the only solution that will keep you from breakin those CVs. been there done that

The only thing replacing with different boots will do is help the botts , not the cv axles . You need to fix it right by dropin the diff or getting the right cv axles or loose the lift .

Diff drops are made 1" because that drops the diff to the cross member and leaves a little wiggle room.

Just get your stock axles rebuilt of re-booted at a driveline/driveshaft shop. OEM axles are best (except maybe the RCV).

I would bet that your boots tore because they are old. Warning, lifts will wear boots out faster than stock height. I'm still running my stock axles, at 200,000 miles, and 60,000 with ~2.75" of lift. And yes I do wheel HARD!

i have a set of napa cv's and i have wheeled them hard. They have nice flexible boots, and for about $90 each they are affordable to break. I broke a stock cv, but it was a ball joint failure that broke the cv.
