High Altitude Ping Fix
I drive a 1997 SuperCharged 4Runner. I live at 5,000 feet and usually drive at altitudes between 5,000 and 12,000 feet. I'm pretty sure that I don't need to install the full fuel system upgrade at this altitude. What would be the ideal ping fix for me? Just colder plugs...thermostat...?
Any info in this would be great.
THANKS

I live in SLC and only get a ping when it is hot outside and just before it down shifts.
I installed the plug that Gadget recommends (two steps colder) and it helped a little. I have a TRD thermostat sitting on my toolbox waiting to be installed. I will probably do that this spring.

I think you are speaking of the High Gear/Low RPM-Ping.
It is true that you do not need the full blown fuel upgades like us flat landers do, but you could install the SS FTC and us that to retard the timing when and where you need to suppress the HG/LR-Ping.
Then later if you want to run the slightly smaller pulley we are about to release then you can retune the fuel map to make it work well for you with larger injectors.
Or, install the URD water injection system. I have been running that with all zeros in the retard map and it does not ping at all.
