HID near Equiv Head Lights
Hi Gang,
Any opinions on the best HID "equivalent" head lamps for a 99 4Runner? I am not about to spend $900 cdn, $700 US, to convert to HID.
What are my options?
Thanks,
Bruce

well you have some options...
PIAA has some bulbs that are "near" HID in color and looks, but obviously not as bright as real HIDs
Sylvania Silverstars are also an option that is cheaper than the PIAAs but not nearly as bright or white/blue.
PIAAs run about $80 US a pair and the Silverstars are prolly no more than $30 ( i think)
true HIDs wont cost you $700 US. i just ordered my Hella HID conversion kit for $400 from www.misterjung.com however, i have to warn you, their service there totally blows, so be careful.

Dont waste your money on PIAA, they are garbage. You are better off saving up for an HID kit in the long run.
This company sells a genuine phillips kit for $630 CAN:
http://www.xenonfactory.com/products/hid/philips_ca.htm
I paid $800 CAN for my CATZ.
Good Luck!
