Hey all! New to the Forum
Hello everyone,
I have been lurking in this forum for quite some time now and I finally registered. Oh, I think the member "Imjustagirl" thread was frickin hilarious!!.
Anywayz, I am hopefully going to buy a 2004 4runner V6 Galactic Grey 4WD this year. I dont know if I am going to get a SE or SR5. I like the hood scoop and the idea of the XREAS, but in the future I would like to get a lift. The other Standard features of the SE I could live without or buy later.
What do you guys think I should buy??
The great thing is my father is also going to buy a 2WD 2004 V6 4runner. Hopefully, we can get a better deal since we are buying 2 at the same time.
btw, the Limited is nice, but its out of my price range.
thanks,
Ken

Welcome to Yotatech! i think when it comes to buying a vehicle, people could suggest to you what they think, but its up to you and what you can afford. just compare the two, decide what you need and what you want and see what you come out with.

Welcome
WARNING! The surgeon general has determined that modding your 4Runner and being a yotatech member can cause serious health problems; blurred vision from staring at a computer screen too long, sore wrists from taking out your credit card so much, aching back from sitting in a chair improperly while again staring at a computer screen, finger nail biting from playing beat the check to the bank before the credit card bill goes through with the latest "mod" charges, headaches from the large frying pan your wife or g/f will hit you with when they discover just how much you spend on mods, and numerous others. You have been warned...
Welcome to the forum Kenn and just go ahead and cut up all your credit cards now and save yourself the time of wanting to do it later!

if u just get one, the price should be around invoice (100-500 over only).
if you're getting 2, I'd say ask for below invoice!
as for lifting, currently if you have XREAS, then you're kinda screwed. We have a member here Doug (02runner) that has XREAS and he's in the process of making some lifts for the XREAS system. We'll have to wait and see how that works out (crossing fingers)
good luck!

Thanks for the health warning!! I figured that would happen after reading some of the guy/girl's posts. My wife hears it from me about the 4runner constantly and I bet she cant wait till I get so I will stop talking about getting it.
Good Times----
Thanks for the welcome. A lift for with the XREAS would be sweet!! I think I am going with the Sport Edition. I believe someone will make a lift for Runners w/ XREAS soon.

Ken:
Yeah I hope that someone will make a lift for the xreas but from the way I look at it, it looks grim
The xreas system is a closed pressurized system built into the shock. Lifting requires longer shock thus changing the shock entirely. Unless the aftermarket companies make a longer shock with the xreas system embedded, it looks grim.
Doug (02runner) is doing something different by moving the parts around but I'm not sure exactly whats going on until I see it with my own 2 eyes. He sounds pretty confident and I stand behind his work so I'm definitely crossing fingers.
I just hope that you don't mind having a non lifted 4runner for awhile as Xreas lifted 4runners won't be around for along time (atleast 1 yr I think).
