Hey 2nd Gen 4Runners!! How many miles per tank do you get?

I got a 90 with 31" tires, auto tranny and about 155,000 miles. I get about 200 miles per tank. Is that normal? I've changed plugs and air filter, but no improvement. What are you guys getting? :wtf:

I've got a 95 3.slow with Joey's Air Box mod, and I get about 255-265 a tank, running 91 octane (ouch Mr. Pocketbook). Before the mod I was getting 240-255. I was thinking about the ISR mod, and then I realized I don't even know what the Intake Silencer is. I don't know if the ISR will help or hurt. I will probably get the Jardine catback in the next month or so, and I hope that helps as well.

91 + 35X12.5's on 10" wide wheels + auto trans + 5.29 gearing + FIPK = 150 miles per tank of mid grade & supreme fuel. Now that sucks!

'91 with the 3.0, auto tranny, not geared for the 31" tires.
I get about 160 to 180 per tank, and around 14 MPG combined city & freeway.

Perfectly normal for a rig that sits up 2" higher than stock, has a wind catching roof rack with various Xmas ornaments hanging off of it catching the jet stream, and an ARB bumper up front, fender flares sticking out, ect.

Just remember, every little thing you add onto your rig that makes it less stream line and heavier is going to make your gas consumption go up.

I also have to run the highest test Union 76 around here, and right now it's $2.13 per gallon.
I'd sure like to hang a few of the folk's who set these prices.

93 4Runner, 85k, 3.0, 5-speed, stock 31's, not sure of the gear ratios. In the summer I get about 300 miles/tank. In the winter I get about 260 miles/tank.

With mixed driving I can get about 225 miles and it takes about 16 gallons when I fill up (14.06 mpg).
With highway (trip style) driving I can go about 265 miles.
I have the original sticker and I will post what it says, I believe it is 14/16 mpg.

I used to get about 17.5-18mpg getting 300 miles out of a tank. My truck has hit a slump and is not running that great anymore. Now it is down to 12-14mpg at anywhere between 190-210 miles per tank.

I've got a 95 V6 5-speed with 31's and 4.56 gears. I basically get 300 miles per tank, not matter whether I am city or highway driving (give or take 20). I usually drive fairly easy on the gas, as I try to save as much as I can (read: college student). My next set of tires will be 32's, so we'll see how that affects my mileage (may not be till next summer though). Also, I will be putting some heavier steel wheels on this summer, so I'm guessing my mileage will suffer a little bit then as well.

That's why I ride my bike or take the bus back and forth to campus!!!

I usually get 210-230 miles of mountain driving. I can get 320 miles during flat, lower altitude, highway driving. My Runner came with the 31" tires and I guess 4.88 gears.

I usually get about 220 a tank. I think it comes out to about 15-16 mpg. When I'm easier on her I will see about 17 mpg combined city/highway. Definitely nothing to brag about considering the work I've done to her.

I get about the same, but I have all my tools on board and a extra spare tire. I should take all my "toys" out and see what I get with a lighter load...

I got a 94, 3.slow, 31's, auto and I get around 250/280. It just depends on how hard I drive it and I use reg. gas.

For everybody with non-stock size tires, are you compensating for that when you're stating how many miles you get per tank and/or mpg?

With stock gears and 31 inch tires I get about 265 per tank around town. On the highway I get over 300. I got 335 once and that was at an average speed of 75-80mph including a long steep mountain pass (Mammoth). But that was really pushing it. I spaced out and found myself in the desert between Tahoe and L.A. with the fuel light on and no town for 40 miles. I made it to a gas station, but just barely. I was completely convinced that I would be walking. But like always, the 4runner came through.

I'm geared for the lame 27" tires so with the 32's I'm lucky to break 190 miles per tank..

3.0 + 5 speed + 4.10 gears (or is it 4.11) = really bad gas mileage and even worse acceleration.

I recently purchased a '93, 22re, 5sp, 235s, 113k and in the little I have driven it so far including driving over a couple passes, highway and in town driving I've been getting 24mpg. So, if I completely ran out a tank (17.1gal) I'd get 410.4 miles out of it. Then I'd have to see how far my feet would go to the next gas station!
