Hesitation in a 1st GEN V-6
Got a problem with my first gen with a v-6. It is engine realated.
When I start the truck up for the first time it runs great(cold engine). Then when the temp starts to climb it starts hesitating, surging and bucking moderately at light throttle settings (1/3 or less)during accel only. Constant speed is ok. After it gets to full operating temp everything settles down but there is still a hint of the above just not nearly as bad. But is still feels to me that it is still not 100%. Idles smooth, mileage normal, runs smooth at constant speeds.
I took it to a mechanic. He put it on an analyzer, saw nothing wrong. It is a 5 speed so he is unable to put it under a load when iit is on the analyzer. Checked the plugs and wires and found a couple small carbon tracks so he changed both the wires and the plugs. Since it was high mileage and I saw no receipts for injection cleaning I had that done. The rotor and cap are newer. Still I am getting the same conditions. I am now deployed and have not had time to get it back to him. I planned on leaving it with him for a couple of days to see what I am talking about because it is warm by the time I get it to the mechanic.
Any idea on what it could be. I have not a clue on this one. My wife is supposed to drop it off to him while I am here. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. Thanks
