Question Help! Torqur Settings For Aisin Hubs???

Hey guys,

I am on a computer without acrobat so I cannot view the files I downloaded from coreys post on torque settings.

I need to know the torque settings for the AISIN CAP, the centerbolt holding the hub, and then the surrounding bolts that hold the hub to the rotor.......

It will take me two hours to download acrobat. I need them ASAP cause its raining and I just got replacement stainless bolt from LOWES after snapping one off!

Thanks everyone,

Mike

Mike,

I don't own a torque wrench, so here's how mine are on.

Cap - not very tight at all. I think I overtightened two of them - didn't break them, but they are on their way. Think of the tightness as "snug".

Hub Body - tight - like putting lug nugs on, cross pattern for tightening and everything.

Axle - the half shaft was moving on me. When I went to get it off, I used a quick jerk with the socket and it came free (kind of easy) I used the same method to tighten it - a quick jerk at the end of the tightening.

FYI - the cap bolts RUST!! I wirewheeled mine back to lift and they are already rusted. I'm going to pick up some stainless ones tomorrow or Monday.

Cone washer nuts 21 to 25
That center one on the axleshaft w/ washer 13

Use threadlock on this one or tighten it more than that, it'll come loose easily and chew up the threads and the backside of the knob.

Aisin Hub Cap Bolts..

Hey guys,

Thanks for the torque settings....

I got some M6 Stainless from LOWES. Goto their bin boxes and take one of your bolts. Then to make sure pop open a pack of the nuts and screw it on.

Hey I can help it they dont have a thread checker....

I spent all of 4 dollars on the bolts and washers.

Hopefully after all this snow melts I can put the hubs in free and get 0.5 MPG!!!!!

Mike

Ps. Cebby the lights are going to be going on soon. I got the OEM Grill Guard installed. My father in law welded an extra piece of metal to the bracket. Its bolted onand good to go. I just have to clean that virgin metal and slap some flat black on it.

The Lowes by me sucks, they won't stock any metric stainless.

is that bolt and washer, that goes into the end of the axle really necessary?

it came out as mentioned above and destroyed one of my hubs, and after examining things a little,

i see no reason for it to even be there, so when i got new hubs, the bolt got left in the box

If I'm not mistaken it keeps the outer stub axle (birfield equivalent) from sliding in too far and putting extra stress on/bottoming out the tulip joint... So yes, I'm sure they put it there for a reason.

Bolts at lowes...

Hey Shane,

They are typically in bin boxes with lids in the hardware section. I would talk with a manager and see if they can get them in....

Get this, they had the bolts but not the M6 washers, go figure..

Somebody lend me a snowblower!!!!

Did that, they flat out refused. Apparently every Lowes is independent as far as what they stock and don't stock. Needless to say I don't go to that store anymore. I have other sources around the area though, just not as convenient.
