HELP - Need part name / descriptor
This is going to sound retarded but I need some help and dont have my Haynes with me, please help me by playing whats that part?
Front End of a 1995 4Runner, 4 Cyl
I have taken off the calipers, rotors, and there is one piece behind both of them. This is a large 'cover' ? that the caliper bolts to directly behind the rotor and the axel comes through the middle of.
In the middle of that large cover, where the opening for the axle to come through (about 4 inches in diameter), there is a seal/gasket or dust cover? that is about 4 inches in diameter and a 1/4 inch thick.
I went to put the rotor on and this peice was dryed, crack and needs replacing but kinda having a hard time telling the parts guy what I need.
Thanks for your help

It' sound like a bearing seal that needs replacing.
Go to the dealer and order new seals. There's an outter and inner seals. Seems like the they are dry out. Check the other side too.Chances are they are dry out too. Check the bearings too. You might need to replace the bearings as well.
