help! downey headers install
Just like springs, this topic has been pounded enough. Anyways, I have read all the walk through stuff, but I can't figure out how to mount the reed valve. According to Churnd, the crush sleeve I want to be using is the "gold ring" lookin thingy. This is supposed to crimp the pipe. Either way, it seems like there isn't enough clearence for the crush nut to go down any farther on the header. It bottoms out before "crushing" the golden ring. Anyone had this problem before? There are 2 other "sleeves." They are black, but it seems the instructions are pointing to the egr valve pipe for those. HELP!

Well, I think I got it to work. I found a nice thick washer. It had the center hole just big enough to fit on the copper pipe. I ground it down on the table grinder into a small ring. This ring fits inside hte crush nut, acting as a spacer. This gave me plenty of height to really crush the ring. I have my engine out of the car, so I installed them. What I didn't realize is that there is no way to fit the engine back in the car with the headers on. Unless I cut off the front body.....hmmmmm
