Just wondering if anyone ever tried one of these? Seems like an amazing bang for the buck.

Plenty of threads are a "Search" away and they all say the same thing;in short it's a waste of money and has been dyno proven to do nothing but lighten your wallet.
Avoid it.

Guess I should have searched first. But I'm seeing some pretty good reviews so far.

Pick some more current threads and you'll see the verdict has proven they are crap and I've seen it actuall dynoed on a couple of reputable car show and magazines. I've drag raced for the last 13 years and I know what makes horsepower and "twisting" the inlet air isn't one of them especially on mass market cars.
I think people who bought them want to think they got more ponies/MPG since they don't want to think they were taken for $100. SUCKERZZZZ

I have heard of using turbulance to keep fuel in suspension in cars where they have say a 4 barrel Holley pumping in gobs of fuel. With port fuel injection, all that energy swirling the air is a loss. I rank this right up with the "Tornado" "passive" super charger and a few others. They are a complete waste of money for us.
It's really this simple. You want power you need flow.(air and fuel) You direct the air any direction other than into the cylinder, it is less effecient. This is because it costs energy that would be putting air into the cylinder to redirect the air in a swirl, around a corner.. etc...

I'll admit it, I have actually purchased two of these things. One for my 98 Taco LTD, and one for my 4Runner. I got caught up in the hype. Don't make the same mistake I did. They are worthless.

I bought one as well, first mod I ever did to my 4runner. Complete junk, but still have it on since I didn't want it wasting anymore of my time to take it off.

Throttle body spacers, whether they're from Helix or PowerAid won't do anything for our engines.
If the engine in question has Throttle Body Fuel Injection then it has more of a chance to help - but we don't. We inject fuel much farther down the path.
What it _MAY_ do is help to smooth out throttle response under some circumstances, but that's different than adding horsepower. And it's also something that happens simply from extending the length of the throttle body, not from swirling air.
If anyone would like to try a Helix on their 3.4L, lemme know... I'll sell you mine for 75% of retail.
