Heavy Duty Tie Rod worth it?
I don't plan on lifting my truck anytime soon, and I don't want o go to a hi-steer system. I run 31's but probably won't go bigger. All of this due to tight budget btw. I'll wait until this isn't a daily driver to commence my fantasy buildup.*
So is a heavy duty tie rod worthwhile? Seems like it's pretty vulnerable out front there. I see Marlin Crawler sells one. ($149) So does NWOR, but they don't talk much about it being stronger against the trail, just about it flexing less with big tires.
Does anyone make an extra tough replacement tie rod that can stand up to some rock abuse?

heavy duty tie rod
sporin i got a NWOR heavy duty tie rod. they are made of DOM tubing and twice the wall thickness as the factory one. there definitly worth the money there a lot stronger than the factory one.

Have you ever snagged (or even hit) your tierod on a rock? If not, then you don't really need it yet, especially since you're only running 31s.
If you do get it anyways, get it from Rockstomper or Marlin. NWOR won't help you if there's any issues with their products. Scott and Marlin will.

After further research, I think I'll just wait until the stock TR goes bad before doing anything about it. I' ll spend the money on a nice, thick, transfer case skid plate instead. That thing looks super-vulnerable hanging down under there.

tranny crossmember
sporin check out the cross member/skid plate at budbiult.com it's made out of 3/8 plate and does not hand down as low and he has a transfer case gaurd that goes with it made of 1/4 plate. i seen the owner off roading at paragon adventure park and his stuff looks real nice and strong. i plan on getting one soon.
