a search for "daytime lights disable" gives you this thread:
http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.p...lights+disable which lists this link: http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/ducky_drl/ducky.htm but since you have a '00, then you just: "uplug (grey plug) the resistor next to the battery (small vented box between the batt and fender). That'll work on an '00" and is backed up by this statement: "The plug is to the contraption bolted to the inside driver's side fender by the battery in the '00. The TSB DOES apply to the '00, but it's a lot more trouble than simply unpluging a connector, plus, disabling via the connector is easily reversible. I keep mine plugged in, but I'll unplug it for the drive-in theater, campground, etc., when you don't want your DRL's operable at night."

The switch that activates the daytime driving lights is the e-brake switch. When you start the truck the daytime lights won't come on unless the e-brake is released, once they are on they won't turn off if you engage the e-brake until the vehicle is turned off. So to get them off & the engine running you need to engage the ebrake, turn off the truck and restart it, leaving the e-brake on. Then they won't turn on until you release the e-brake
