Well since I put my Downeys on my low beams are way to low. Does anyone have a link to a cool site that talks about how the lights should be aimed? I did a search and there was some stuff on a 3rd Gen and the most constuctive advice was from Jay to pay to have them adjusted but there's no way I am doing that here I know it would be expensive. If I just move them up to where I am happy with them on low beam will it throw the high beams all outta whack? It's going to be interesting when I get back to the states because these things are totally tweaked over the right anyways because of driving on the left side of the road. I will be adjusting my new foglights tomorrow but it will be hard to do since they reference off the headlights.. Thanks

Hey Joey, Im not quite sure on the "how to" adjustment BUT if you adjust the low beam it should also be the same adjsutemnt for the high beam. When you adjust, you move the housing not just the bulb..


With the first gens a trusty screw driver would adjust this Im not sure what it takes on the 2nds and 3rds..Ive never had to mess with mine so far..

I would think it would be farley easy to adjust, just park 10 or so feet away from a flat wall (preferrable at night) turn on your beams and peek under the hood and see if you can adjust away, it should only take basic tools which Im sure you have..

Man, at my shop we do this free often. If we charge its like 9.95. Well worth using the correct tool. I just did Dr. Z's the other week.

He hasnt bitched about it yet. But im waiting.

Well I just went out and screwed around with mine on a my wooden fence. On a 2nd Gen Runner there are two phillips screws. One on the inside top one on the outside top. The ones on the outside tops move them up and down. You screw it in to move it up and out to move it down. Man I wish I would have done this sooner. I have always hated my low beams. Now they are much better after moving them up a ways. At first I went to far and when I tested them my high beams were pointing up in the trees. Moved them down a bit and now they are much better. I am sure they are still way outta whack but at least they are better than they were!
