Headlighs dim when heater fan turned on

i just replaced the alternator on my 1998 limited and now headlights dim when i turn on fan, tried the tension but seems ok any less and it squeals , any thoughts? also started to notice the smell of coolant but unable to find leak any where , level not going down in bottle..........weird looked under dash on pass side and noticed to me what looked like condensation also seems like you can smell AC when heat is on . I noticed that the rad seems to be getting way hot, to the point you can not keep your arms on it with short sleeves on, i know with my sled experience first sign of a sled over heating is a hot hot rad any thoughts ? lots of coolant in rad also .
This is my first post on the site gotta say love the info i have been finding , had a 1998 taco for long time and it got bought back with 350 000 on it just hope this new/old one lasts as long.

I would go through and recheck all my connections and make sure that there is no corrosion and that all of the connections are tight. Using a bit of dielectric grease on your connections is also a good idea. Your coolant issue is a bit odd. Did it start directly after you did the alternator?
