Headers or replacement manifolds?

Hi, Ive got a 98 Tacoma 4X4 and I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Would I be better off getting a set or headers or new manifolds? URD has Thorley headers for around $550. I cant find any manifolds online (if anyone knows where to get them Id appreciate a link). So basically, Im thinking that both are gonna be a PITA to install. So, my question, which is easier to install? Which is cheaper (IDK how much manifolds cost)?

Don't see many 3.4s with that problem. I guess if I were you I'd stay with the factory manifold as headers can be even more unreliable. Might consider getting a set of 2001+ manifolds as they were a more tubular design and have better flow. Note: if you swap to the 2001+ style you will also need to swap the crossover too because the flanges were different. As to where, I'd start with a slavage yard or someone online that has gone to headers and wants to sell theirs. Here's a online salvage yard data base: http://www.car-part.com/

I have a used set of 3.4L TRD headers, I was going to use on my buggy but they will not fit inside tube rails. $300.00 plus the ride.

I vote headers. better flow, better sound, and probably around the same price as "new" manifolds.

go with headers if you can. both are a pain in the ass to install. but sense you are already have to take everything out go with the headers for sure. get TRD if you can. I found them new on ebay for 450 shipped. then had them ceramic coated. They will last longer than any other part on my truck.

TRD headers new fallow link below. I would buy them used and have them ceramic coated! should equal same or less than if you bought them new.
