Has Anybody Used LED Bulbs On Their Truck?

I was wondering if anybody has used LED bulbs for the tailights, because my clear tailights are coming this week. I also plan on using white LEDs 194 for the corners, 1156 for the turn signals, 7443 for the brake light and 7440 for the backup and turn signals. Does anybody have any experience with them?

thanks

I have a set in mine.

They work pretty well. Stock 1st gen tail lights look pinkish but with the LED tails in they are bright red spots

I had them for about a week and then one burned out and of course they ran in series so both didn't work. Plus..I have the Jaos roof spoiler with LED 3rd light so that would stay on with the taillights.

Where did you guys get yours?

I was at a car audio store in my town when I saw a display for LED light replacements, but they didn't have a clue where they got it from. I guess it had just been sitting there forever so no one could remember.

Are they worth getting especially for my all clear tailights?

I think they would be great for interior lights (dash, hvac, dome)

I think they would be great too. I like how they use so much less power and you could easily change the number of LED's to get an exact amount of light, and there are a bunch of colors for that matter as well.

I just tripped over these using Google:

Try your local marine store for LEDs if you want to look at them before buying. They have a few direct replacement bulbs and a bunch of different complete fixtures for dome lights or door lights. I wired my cap with a set of four triple LED fixtures and they are bright enough to read by.

LED's

The autolumination site has the largest and brightest selection and every other possible connector you might need, but hold on to your wallet. Expect to pay around $20.00 each for the brightest ones. Some even higher.

Who keeps digging up these 8 year old threads??
I've seen cars around here with LED brake light bulbs and during the day when they brake, instead of lighting up the whole lens like a regular bulb will all you see is a dot of light about the size of a quarter. VERY hard to see when they slam on the brakes in front of you! I know they make wide angle LEDs and such but for like $25 each they're not that cool.

Looks like a bot/spammer pulled this thread up.

But with that said i got mine from Vleds some 4 years ago now and love them, brighter then stock bulbs and i like the instant on/off of them in the brakes/blinkers.

Got them in every light on my truck except for the driver map lights, could not find LED's to fit there that were as bright as some super bulbs i found, bet there is something out there now though.

i have been considering buying one of these to stick to the ceiling of my cab and wire it right into the dome light switch. i know its a little more work but it should still be a cakewalk, plus be SUPER bright

EDIT: a guy i know has a longer non adhesive strip like this for rock lights on is buggy and theyre freaking awesome

Led lights are definitely worth it for the interior lights. Led Exterior lights look cool but are expensive.
