Hard wired 110 volt outlets in 3rd Gen

Okay like I said, I've got lots of custom mods to show... I've got my own set up for a stereo, but in the rear of the 3rd gen there is a vented compartment that I assume held a factory amp... well I decided to put a 800 watt power inverter back there and hardwire in a house outlet. I don't have the "guts" pics handy at this point but can post them if need be. Basically I ran 8 guage power and ground back, and cut out some of the black plastic that makes up the compartment on the backside. The inverter has cooling fans, so I went ahead and made sure there was plenty of air to be circulated. I actually haven't used it yet, but I'm sure once summer comes around there will be plenty of things I'll want to run. Here's the final pick..... Oh and I plan on color matching the plate....

Nice mod. FYI, Home Depot sells gray outlets and matching faceplates. Would that have worked?

That would be easier if you used a decora style plug. Just cut a rectangle...

Home Depot snorkels and other mods is one thing, but this is on a whole new level! Classic!

nice!

not saying that you smell or anything but you can now plug in one of those Glade air freshners, or a nite light when you go camping.
