I've edited this thread to note that I had issues with the Griot's Garage products because I wasn't using them properly. I thought I should come back and update this. I've since learned how to properly use their products and they're great. It's all I use now.

I have been using all the Griots stuff for years, and will never switch.

I do note on my detail site as seen in my sig that the bonnet is useless for removing the wax or polish, one must do it by hand.

And I also state that it is difficult to remove.

They say 3 months on the Best Of Shine, not true.
My last wax job of the year is around August/September, then again the following spring.
Around April, so that is 7 months until the next one, and the BOS is still working on my rigs.

I only use Zaino and Sonnus, I came to these products after trying many others. I'd say that most high end detail shops use these products too. If you want details on vehicle detailing here is a great resource. (www.autopia.org)

Did you read the Detailers Handbook? A lot of good tricks in there.

I think it clearly states remove polish while still damp and wax after it has dried completely. If you let that polish dry it is a PITA to remove. I know I put down one layer of wax and let it dry over night and then another the next day. I never had a problem removing either polish or wax but I did it by hand.

To keep the wax up you mix in some wax each time you wash.

I could do my 00 in about 6 hours. I wash my F350 when it rains.

After looking through the Griot's Garage catalog I think the Best of Show wax isn't the best thing for our trucks. They offer a product called "Paint Sealant" and another called "One Step Sealer". The "Paint Sealant" lasts a year and says it's simple to apply and remove (I'd assume similar to the Maguire's Tech Wax). The "One Step Sealer" is the paint sealer combined with the Machine Polish #3. This products are said to be used on daily drivers or cars that set outside.

The Best of Show wax appears to be more for show cars that are garaged and get waxed every few months.

That is strange, as I mentioned I have had nothing but good luck an longevity with the BOS wax.

I am always getting comps on my paint on this rig and my 4Runner when I had it.
It is a show quality wax, but it lasts far longer than Mr. Griot's claims it does.

I found the key to removing stubborn polish or wax is to keep a spray bottle filled with distilled/filtered water nearby, squirt the spot and remove the residue with a microfiber towel. We use the same Griot's products and they're all water soluble.

Living in a low humidity area like CO, my wax and polish tend to dry fast...even when doing small sections at a time. I spray a bit of Speed Shine on those stubborn spots and hit it with the Micro Fiber towel. I believe it says to do this in the Detailer's Handbook.

I wax my truck every 6 months with Meguire's Gold Class polish and then seal it in with Carnuba wax and use Meguire's Speed detailer inbetween waxes.
I've now been using their synthetic polish and it goes on easy and off easy and my truck looks fine for a daily driver and sees off road more than a few times a year.
