grille removal?

today I got an aftermarket horn and put it in, but it was a pain because I could only get the top part of the grille loose. I took the screws out of the parking lights on both sides, and unlatched the top part, but couldn't figure out how to get the bottom part loose/out?!

I'm going to replace my headlights soon, but not unless I can get the whole grille all the way out

anyone know what I might have missed when trying to remove it?

hmm, didn't notice anything like that on the bottom.. I'll have to look closer tomorrow.

it'd be nice if it were that easy, but I gota feeling my front end is attached slightly different then that,.

so the lights can be replaced without taking the grille all the way off?

I may put another high tone horn in the other side though, in which case it'd be really nice to have it all the way off instead of working around it again.

I've got the same truck and taking trying to take my grill out to change the headlights was a true PITA. There are little clips all the way around that have to be pushed in, then pulled out and then you can get the whole thing out. I wasn't able to get those loose, so I got the grill loose enough and just wiggled the headlights out. It sucked bad. I got my info out of the Haynes manual, I don't remember the details cause its been a year since I did it. If you figure out an easier way let me know.

or you could do like me, try to get the snaps loose - pull too hard-snap all of them on one side- live with a rattly grill for a few months-finally rip off the whole thing and replace it with an $80 ebay one. Good plan right?

Taking my grill off was a two person job. One down under pushing up, and one up top pushing down.

Of course I'm a few years later than you, so this doesn't apply.

I broke a good amount of the top clips yesterday, not user friendly to say the least

Yeah, all that plastic ˟˟˟˟˟ sux. Its all made to put together on the assembly line quickly. Not to take apart and work on later. Why can't they just use a screw or two.
