Got rear ended and now locker won't engage...insurance issue
My 1997 4Runner got rear ended and now my factory e-locker won't engage. The damage to the truck wasn't that bad, but the car that hit me was going like 25 miles per hour prior to impact. See pics.
Is this possible....for a locker to stop working after a rear end impact? It was working before and now it won't. I am doing figure 8s and the light keeps blinking and locker won't engage.
Allstate estimated the repairs to be around $526 to repair the bumper and to buff out the quarter panel. I told the claims guy that my locker does not engage now and that it was caused by the accident. He told me that it would fall under the supplemental process when it gets to a shop. I didn't put up a fight, but after thinking about it, I think that I can potentially get screwed as the insurance company can come up with a reason and refuse to pay to have it fix. I called Allstate and told them I wanted them to put on the estimate the estimated cost to get the rear locker repaired and include the amount on the check that they are going to cut to me, but I was told that repair has to go through the supplemental process. I fought them, but they said no. As of right now, I have not accepted or received the $526 check. What to do? Any suggestions?
If I end up having to go through the supplemental process with the locker issue, what is my best approach? How do I show them that it was damaged from the accident. Take the e-locker off? I know for sure the body shop I am going to take it to will not even know what a locker is. Should I take it to a differential mechanic and have him take a look and get an estimate and provide it to the insurance company prior to accepting anything?
Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

There's a few possibilities, the most probably would be a wire that was sheared off. The locker harness doesn't have a ton of slack in it, and the jolt from a wreck could've pulled a wire out or clipped it off altogether.
It may also have jolted a magnet loose inside the motor, which is stuck and jamming the motor.
Either way, it's a quick fix.

try taking the motor off. its 2-3 bolts. then push the botton and see if it moves. if its broke then just put it back in, and do the supplemental process... but u may want to pull the whole diff and inspect. atleast drain oil lookin for metal
