Got my arms back on! :)

After about 4 years of the Trailmaster lift and the funky 2nd struts they use to replace the upper A-arms, I ended up getting some Fabtech spindles and put the upper A-arms back! I'm stoked. The drive is already much tighter, and now I don't have to worry about popping the mounts off from the old setup (Done it before).

They are super beefy and weigh in at 55lbs each (the spindles).

Looks like it went well. Did this fix your ball joint/control arm bushing problems?

DesertCamper --- I had my mechanic friend down the street go over the bushings and ball joints with me, and we did some movement tests to find out that everything was fine. I mean, yeah I could use some new parts since they are old, but they are not failing. I think the main problem was my old lift setup. It was janky and caused a lot of movement. Hopefully they will just align my truck now.

awpsome - look at my sig-line. I have a huge writeup and information on that link.

I have been wanting to do this for a couple of years. Glad to see that the mod works. How much did it cost you and where did you get them from? Thanks

I noticed you broke a rear axle shaft. By any chance before this broke, did you have the rear axle bearings replaced?

Blackdog: I bought them used from TTORA. You can buy them for about $300-400 each from 4wheel parts or Offroad warehouse. :/

JamesD: No I hadn't had my bearings replaced. I'm still uncertain to why the shaft broke. I contacted Toyota, and they didn't have any answers or information. It was a scary situation due to the fact I was driving at about 45 mph when it broke and pulled out of the housing.

That is awesome! I saw about your fix on TTORA, and wanted to get some input from you? Im looking into getting these knuckles (before I weld #2 crossmemebr back!) I hate my POS TM lift, was going back to stock, but this may be the way to go?

I bought my truck in San Diego BTW

Has King CO's in front w/Bilstein 5125's rear

OH well...back to stock with King coil overs.
FWIW, you CAN reverse a drop bracket lift w/cut crossmember.
You are very lucky to scoop those knuckles u$ed

Kit:

Man, I "hope" its straight! lol
Just back from alignment. Heres a complete pic. Same wheels, no spacers, 285's instead of 35's. Best off, no more DB kit

Hytenor: Align specs before

Align specs after:

Wow, nice job dude.... !

If I really disliked the DB lift, I'd go that route.
