Got locked up today...
Yep, I finally took my locker off the kitchen table and put it in the 4Runner. It's nice and noisy! How much fluid does it take to fill the rear diff? I put the funnel on and started dumping, the funnel filled up pretty quick. I held the funnel there for a minute, but it didn't take too much fluid. Is there a better way to do this? I tried to make a little air gap between the funnel and the fill hole to make sure the fluid went in...

well i doubt its any different on the 3rd gen 4runners than the 3rd gen pickups so i fill mine until fluid starts pouring out of the hole..and for putting it in i just cut the tip of of it and squeeze it in there..

I drain it today and see if enough comes out, and then fill it again. Thanks, guys. Next time I'll look at the manual, there's a lot of stuff in there.
If anybody is wondering if they can do the locker- it's easy. I used an 8mm socket jammed over a rubber cap to stop the brake line from leaking. None of the bolts/nuts were frozen. It kinda sucked putting the case back on, being a half-cripple and all, but I got it single-handed with no jack. Used the driveshaft as a pillow to support my neck... arthritis sucks!

Good job, you should bring it out to Cliffs Insane Terrain in Marseilles next weekend for the 4th Annual Chicagoland Toyota Jamboree. There are gonna be a bunch of us there.
