Got a compressor (about 10 yrs late !)

Finally got a compressor this weekend. All my suspension work had been driving me nuts with removing lug nuts and several times, an air ratchet would have been nice.

Did a few circuits of the stores and came up with a nice Cambell Hausfield, 5hp, 125 psi with a 22 gal vertical tank and some wheels for mobility.

Best part was as a promo deal, I also got a 250 lb ft 1/2" impact wrench, 3/8" ratchet, air chisel with bits, Paint gun (Yeah, right !) , a selection of air nozzles, hoses, connectors and tires accesories and some metric impact sockets....all for under $300.

I can now take the lug nuts off under full torque and if I replace them at minumum torque it just snugs them at probably 50 lb ft. I finish them, as always with a torque wrench.

Anyway, I just wonder why I waited all this time.....

David

Good!

Good you have one!

I have one, Campbell Hausfeld. Mine is horizontal tank with pulley. I got mine at around 260 at local sears. It was great deal. But seems like you got the best deal.

Just one tip. Don't forget to rub the impact wrench. That actually makes difference (particulary when loosening "Crank shaft nuts". And it will make your last longer.....

Enjoy.

I said the same thing. I bought one about a year ago. I also use it to blow out the garage, don't need no stinken broom. For a while I was even blowing excess water off the truck after washing it. Bought an impact, die grinder, and cutoff tool. Makes life much easier. Air tools are so cheap for general purpose stuff.
