Smile Break out the Checkbook...

...and get the elbow grease ready. Looks to have potential if you're willing to invest in it.

22RE 5spd paid 545 for it. Not sure on the transfer case or the rears yet. that is what i know so far. Drove it around a bit today. Something is not right with the cluch. Never had a stick before so i dont know much. I do know this i would like to make this a good solid truck again. Wanted a small 4x4 got a jeep xj and found out they suck, but this 4runner look at it and i see a lift, crossover, 35"ssrs, custom bumpers. Damn, just cant wait. So can some tell me more what i have in this truck?? any information would be great. Wish i knew where to start, can see i will be on here a lot. thanks guys!!

Sweet, how many miles? Also, you can talk to Wabbit but don't look at his build up, you will descend rapidly into the depths of jealousy and despair, unless you have a lot of money and fab skills!

Nice rig. Great deal for 545.00! You could part it out and make some cash on that deal! Not that you would want to I am just saying

What are you going to tackle first?

May I suggest putting a stop to the to the cancerous whore, otherwise known as RUST.

215,000 on the clock. all the rust will be getting fixed. as far as $$$ a bit. Fab skills?? nop, not yet anyway. What are you going to tackle first? Well, just make sure everything is good and solid. Breaks seam ok. Clutch needs some works, Clean it up a bit. Change all the fluids. tune-up after that is said and done. 3.5" tuff country lift and put my 35" bfgs on i hope. not sure if i can clear them or not. if not 1-2" body lift i guess. If i had the cash, all pros lift, that set up looks killer. Dont have that kind of cash thow. with 3.5 can i use my stock drive shaft still?? hope so. now that i think about the rust, could allways take a sazall to it for bigger meats. It there room to do it, looks like there is a little?

thanks guys mike

no, rust is vehicular cancer. once it starts, there is no stopping it. do the best you can to keep on top of it and enjoy your 'new' rig.

Very nice for the price. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Just remember, it might cost more now, but if you only have to do the suspension once, ie All Pro or Marlin lift, then you won't have the extra costs of the 3.5" Tuff Country lift. I say drive it till you can save the money to do what you want the first time and don't go half way just because of money.

Also, check out Pirate4x4, they have a large amount of info on 1st gens and cheaper ways to lift them.

Nice runner. First thing I'd do is take care of as much of the rust as possible and get the engine and drivetrain ready to go another 250k miles.

looks good man!!! If you need any sort of replacement parts, give me a pm Ill hook you up. I have a storage shed full that im not actively trying to get rid of, but will part with to help others.

Thats a heck of a deal! I agree with others, get the rust off first, invest the 80 bucks or so into a sawzall and some blades and mark and cut your fenders to get rid of that rust. After that you should probably just hit the door panels with some sandpaper.. All in all I say NICE WORK!!!
