Good News!
Got to love the toyota!!
The only thing they can find wrong with my car is the starter motor doesn't kick in some of the time. So basicly i have escaped with an interior that smells like a swamp and a "sorta" bad starter motor. I'm going to go over and see the truck and make sure they put new fluid in the diffs as I didn't have extended breathers. That is going to be my first mod when I get her back. Then wet oakie seat covers... What color should i get with the brown interior? Should I go all black or get the brown or what? I think i'm going to order them tonight. I'm a little skeptical still, so I'll let you know when I get her back and acutally drive it around.

That's GREAT!
Probably in no small part from your quick thinking in turning off the engine as soon as you saw what was going on.
Wet Oks? I'd get a sample of the colors you're considering before buying anything.
Hope everything goes well for you!

Right on man! Glad to hear you got off pretty easy. Did you learn anything from that little escapade?? I would shampoo your whole interior. BTW you'll love the wet Okoles!

Funny guy we got here
Yeah, if I can find one!! I havn't seen one on a 3rd gen yet. I going to get a bull bar/winch first though. Figure thats a little more practical/useful than a snorkel. I used some Bissel fabric cleaner after getting all the mud out of the carpet and that seemed to work pretty well. I think it smells better than it did when I left the sun roof open a few months back. what a pita that was!

So when will you pick the rig up? I bet you're anxious, I know I'd be. Be sure to take before and after pics of the cleaning job!
Oh BTW, 44Runner has a snorkel on his 3rd gen. It came up the other day over here, just don't remember which thread.
Although I do remember the phrase 'bunny dave', so if you search on that (both here and on ODW), I'm sure the threads will appear!

Turbo, good news on your rig. I'm happy for ya! If your rig has "the stinkies" from its near drowning, you might want to consider having the interior professionally steam cleaned. Pull your seats ('cept your drivers seat... ) and drive it to a detailers place. When you get there, pull your drivers seat out and let the guys go to it. At some point in the future, you can go back and get the seats done.
Just a thought.

They are draining the diffs today and he said they are getting the starter in tomorrow, so I hope I'll get it back tomorrow. I have been wanting to just go for a drive for oh... a MONTH NOW!!! I am extremely anxious to get back on the saddle. Its also nice to know I will have a way of getting home after schools out, and I can also move all my stuff out of the dorm and into my gf's house for storage till I get a place next fall.
1Runner- Already half a step ahead of ya. I tool all the seats out (except for the rear up-rights) and hosed out all the mud and then took some carpet cleaner to it. But i'm definately gonna get it professionally cleaned out. Its in the 80s and 90s here now with what feels like 200% humidity. So I'm gonna want some windows up action going on and want to be able to breathe!
Thanks for everyone's support and now on with the mods! I just talked to my boss today and I'm gonna be back to work right when I get home, so now I'll have some extra chaching to put into my rig.
Thanks again,
