Good exhaust tips for 02 Taco?

The stock exhaust tip of my 02 Taco is rusty and looking like crap. I would like to get an exhaust tip to weld over the stock one. Anyone know the size I need?

Is 3" slip over on the exhaust tip enough?

Summit Racing has good prices....

I went with the 2 1/4 in. inlet, 3 in. outlet diameter on both trucks. The 3.5" outlet diameter looks way too big. I had a 3.5" tip on my Runner and it looked really out of place.

We have them on our 02 Runner and Pre-Runner.

I have a question... when it says 2 1/4 "inlet", is that the same thing is 2 1/4 "slip over"?

They will stretch it a bit to make them fit over the 2 1/4" pipe.

Tip on the 02 Runner...

On the Tacoma...

That looks very clean! Thank you for the pics... I like it alot. You said that they will stretch it a bit to make it fit over the 2 1/4 pipe... so a 3 in. inlet would be no problem to fit... right?

3" inlet may be too big...
A 2.5" I.D. inlet should fit right over a 2.25" I.D. exaust pipe. All exhaust measurements are usually the inner diameter (I.D.). So, the Tacoma's 2.25" I.D. pipe should be close to 2.5" outer diameter.

If you are more into the street look then the 2.5" inlet and 3.5" outlet may look better.

No No... I think I'll take your word for it and agree that the 3.5" may be too big.

The reason I ask about the inlet measurements is becuase I used to have a Gibson Exhaust Tip on my Jeep Cherokee. I bought an exhuast tip from www.angelusplating.com for my Jeep Cherokee to replace the Gibson tip. The new tip had an inlet of 2.5" and that just barely fit over my stock exhuast tip. I then wanted to take the Gibson tip from my Jeep and put it on my father's Taco since I did not need it anymore... but the Taco's stock tip was way too big for it. So from that, I figured that a 3" inch slip over / inlet is ideal and that 2 1/4 is too small.

ALBPM, I'm sorry that you had to be my personal answering buddy. Again, I appreciate it!

What kind of muffler did you put on? Did you keep the stock pipes?
