Goin' up! (pics)

Thanks for all your guys/gals help last night. Burned the midnight oil and got the lift done at 8AM

Added: Revtek 3" lift kit & Bilsteins all around.

Here are some quick pics:

Before:

After:

After:

I must not have tightened the anti-sway bars enough, so it was scary as heck driving to work today. Plus it started vibrating at around 60MPH so I had to exit and take inside roads. Still need to get an alignment.

But DAMN it feels good to sit up so high!

Hmm... those wheel wells look so empty now... time for some new meats!

What kind of lift did you use? It looks nice. :thumb. Makes me want one. I can afford a lift, it's just that my truck has a problem which would get worse with bigger tires.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the positive words!

I did a Revtek 3" lift and Bilsteins all around.

Man, those rear shocks are a PITA to get out. At least the 2nd one came out easier.

Actually during lunch today I got more used to sitting up even higher. Still need to tighten up the sway bars tho; otherwise the truck feels like this:

I took measurements but was too tired to do the math (dem fractions man...) but I did notice slightly less lift in the rear. I'll dbl-check later.

Driver side:

Pass. side:

Here are the (very quick, so they may not be accurate) measurements, before and after:

Wheel/fender-to-floor/center-cap-to-fender
FL 35" 20 1/8"
FR 35 5/16" 20 5/8"
RL 35 3/8" 20 1/2"
RR 35 3/4" 21"

FL 38 1/8" 23 5/8"
FR 38 1/2" 24 1/8"
RL 37 7/8" 23 5/8"
RR 38 1/8" 23 7/8"

Hmm.. looks like a little over 3" for the fronts, a little under 3" for the rears.

Also, can anybody recommend some good swaybar bushings? Might as well replace those as well

Yeah I also did this lift a little over a year ago, and started to notice the rear being a little lower on my 96, so after about a month I replaced the rears with some OEM springs that made it all level out to teh rear a little higher I think. I will say had to replace both axles since due to torn cv boots but think that had alot to do with older boots and then stretching the angles of them afterwards. All has been well since. Also learned that replacing them is fairly easy job.
Ken looking good Hmmm wish I had a scoped hood...
May want to keep a eye on them clamps around the boots they have been know to start to burp out a little greese after the lift.
