yup there is. I dunno why most jap cars only worked glovebox and visor lights with the headlights on. My honda, nissan and toyota were all like that. Sometimes i would be searching for a tire gauge or something in the glovebox at night and had no light. Inconvienent

Jap cars

Hey bro'...I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but the term "Jap" went out a long time ago. It's pretty rude and can be pretty offensive. I'm not a freak about being politically correct all the time, but I do believe that it's always best to show respect to anyone's ethnicity no matter what it may be.

i have a light in my glove box, and it does not work PERIOD! i've got a new LED in there, i check wires, plugs, i have had the whole F*%&$*# dash apart looking for why it does not work. i cant find it, and ye i have tried it with the lights on. and yes, it is similar to a 2nd gen 4Runner wireing, and yes i have looked in the FSM and have check all the things that it says to check. i guess it must be missing a wire or something?

did u try flipping the bulb around? many of the LED are polarized. Try taking it out of the socket and turn it 180 and put it back in.

I have a 02 and there was just a little flip down lid covering a 74 bulb. It was to the left of center on the top wall inside of the glove box.

The frustrating thing to me was that the Sylvania bulbs from Advance did not fit. The body of the bulb was too large in diameter and the "prong" with the electrical contacts was shorter (not sure if the prong mattered).

I went to the dealer to get a replacement thinking that Sylvania was wrong and paid $4 for a bulb that was stamped with the number 74 that fit?!!?

Maybe the GE brand would be a better fit.

I put LEDs in my climate control and noticed that even though i used a wide lens, they had definite hot spots. I noticed most people who do it have the same problem too.
