i was thinking about adding a hitch on the back of my 4runner since it didnt come with one when i had bought it. my dad told me though because of my exhaust it might be in the way of installing it. does anybody know if this will cause a problem with putting the hitch on?

Without being able to see where the exhaust is in reference to your frame rails, and judging by that pic, I would say that any "Hidden Hitch" or the like probably will interfere with your exhaust routing.

You might have to hang your exhaust lower, or reroute it.

dang the only reason why i was going to put one on in the first place was to try to hide the piping running over to the left side...

yeah it looks like the left exhaust tubing cuts right across the frame rails, get some more pictures

Based on that one pic sloan, then no, I don't believe a hitch will mount w/o modifying the exhaust pipes.

Got any pics of underneath the rear of your truck so we can see exactly how the pipes are routed around the frame rails?

You can fit the hitch only if the other side looks similar (mounting of exhaust tip) you can fit a hitch no problem

where is the frame rail located where it is going to be installed on?

It will either bolt to the lower mount you see witht he tow hook or with will bolt up inside or to the outside of the framerails. your clear to buy a hitch it will work

I have a factory hitch that I don't use any more. Do you want it? When you but one make sure it has the receiver in the middle of the tube, not under like mine. When it is under , you will lose about 3" of ground clearance and departure angle. I used to drag mine all of the time.

Dual pipes comin out the rear with a hitch on my 98' worked out fine.

yea i know ive seen some other 4runners on cardomain with duals but they always had the hitch on first so i dont want to get one and then not be able to use it or pay to get my pipes redone.
