Generation ???'s

Can someone please attach years to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation models. What exactly does it apply to - engine, everything? Is there a clear connection with Taco's (engines) or are they just similar?

Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me!!

cool - I'm a third of the way there. To answer your question yes, I'm also asking about Tacoma generations. I also would like to know what kind of ties there are between the two engines.

For example, if someone is talking about doing a deckplate mod on a 3rd gen. 4runner, can/should I apply that to my vehicle??

Am I making any sense yet? Thanks again.

mods can't be standardized all the time across all vehicles similar or not. You need to tailor general mods to your specific situation.

a little history (internet history, at least):

gadget was the first person who created a hole in his airbox. some person on the tacoma boards was inspired by it and came up w/ the deckplate idea.

if its a 3.4L V6 4runner or tacoma, its the same air box.
