gearing question?

Can some one tell me what or how to find out what gearing I have in my 99 Limited 4Runner? I hear there are three different gear ratios for that model. Is there a way to figure out with out having to pull the cover?

What do you think a set of ARB would run for the rear? Would anyone use a cheaper lock rite or powertrax and save some money?

Thanks in advance.

Auto should have 4.30's.

Stick should have 4.10's.

You can jack up the rear and count driveshaft revolutions per tire revolution. Check the green button to decipher door codes.

I have dual ARB's and love it.

The money that you save by not getting them costs you in steering, tire wear and ability to comfortbaly drive in 4wd on ice.

most LTDs with V6 and 4x4 are 4.10 (4.30 with e-locker).

search here and google for "toyota differential ratio" "toyota gear ratio" etc...

I think your VIN also holds the answer to that question.

I would go with the ARB if I were you.
