Gear oil
Guys, I got a question regarding what weight of oil to use. The owner's manual state to use 75W-90 for the manual tranny and xfer case and 80W-90 for the diffs. Can I just use 80W-90 for all instead of using 75W-90 for the tranny and xfer case? It's a 99 4runner 4wd 5 spd. Thanks.

Drive it around for a while, that way the oil will be heated up and should flow better.
I always let mine drain over night, mostly because I do it when I go home for a weekend. It is easy to do it when I get back from school after supper, then fill it when I get up Saturday morning.

Thanks everybody for all the replies. I'll be ordering Amsoil 75W-90 and 80W-90 and hopefully will be able to put everythiing in this weekend. My two weeks just got back from the Persian Gulf april 01) vacation went so quick I hardly have anything. I was able to relax though .
