My gas mileage seems to have dropped since I moved here from Colorado. It might just be my imagination or a longer commute, but I seem to go from full to about 1/2 tank in about 120-130 miles, then get about 300 when the fuel light comes on. Do they do something to the gas out here in the summer, or could it just be my 60 mile round-trip commute on the beltway & toll road? Am also experiencing the HG/LR ping now that the truck has acclimated to sea level, so a lean condition might have something to do with it.

It's commuting in rush hour that drops the milage, at least mine goes to maybe 15 MPG instead of the normal 17-18 city MPG. When I don't have to stop and go all the time, the same trip eats less gas.

I know they used to force us to use the reformulated gas around here because I remember seeing the notices on the pumps at gas stations but I have not been able to find out for sure if they still do it or not. How are you liking things out here so far, other than the traffic?

Fine so far. Traffic sucks, but I expected that. However, my office just moved to Rte. 28 just south of 267, so I'm about 15 minutes from my office as opposed to almost an hour. Not good for the wife, she has to commute into GWU and will be using the Loudon County Commuter bus daily. The big bonus is that I have a job that I like out here (hence the move) and opportunities are all around for new things to do and experience.

It may also be how they formulate the fuel mixture around here? I here depending on which state your in and the emission standards the can eith add or take away more junk in the fuel for better emissions to meet local regulations.:monkey:

That is true, opportunities abound here, that is why so many people move out here. Then. of course, you get the traffic because they refuse to address the realities of having so many people coming here to work.

The gasoline in MD, VA and a couple of the other states around use Oxygenated gasoline all year long. It used to be only in the winter Nov. ~> March but they changed to all year. You are getting about what we all get around here 300 mpg give or take.

side note:
I see you moved to Ashburn. My wifes aunt and uncle lived Sterling (Sterling Blvd & Rt. 28). Almost all of the Redskins (yukkkk) / Capitals / Wizards players live in Ashburn.

Ain't that the truth. I keep saying why can't they start building a second level of roadway (go up, instead of out). I mean if California can do it, and they have earthquakes, than why can't we?

Sounds good, always looking for someone go out on the links with and attempt to play a round! Not sure where Smithburg is, but will drop you a line when we get back out there permanently next month. A firend of mine & I got lost on the MD side of the Potomac last Sunday, found lots of large horse farms out there and some old ferry crossings along the C&O trail. Have found that the Ashburn area is expensive, but I guess that's due to all the sports players living out there.
