Gas Mileage . . .
I was watching the news a couple days ago, and they said they expect Gas prices to jump another $.25 / gallon over the next few months.
So, what can I do to make my 3.6l (Oops I meant 3.4L - wrong button) Runner get better gas mileage so the pump prices dont break me?
Would the Deckplate mod help or hurt?
Any suggestions at all?
Screw Iraq - I think we should bomb OPEC

Actually, OPEC is helping to keep prices from really taking off and is going to increase its' production. Blame it on the workers strike in Venezuela...
BTW, what year/model 4Runner do you have with a 3.6L?

Ok then, Bomb Venezuela too!!!
On second thought, maybe bombing the people who give us gas would be a bad idea. . .
But maybe if we get them all some herim (sp?), they'll be nice and give us a price-break.

I say... screw em right back! They get what?? 80/85% of their food stuffs from us? Then maybe we should start charging $ 3-3.75 an apple. Grain??? Well, the farmers just cut back on the grain crops this year... grain is going to be $110.00 a 50# bag.
Is there anything else you folks need TO SURVIVE??

Ok, so anyway, back to the original question.
Seeing that Im not a powerful politician who can make prices lower,
What can I do to get better mileage?

What about water? Anybody who lives in Colorado, Kansas, Utah, California, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska and Arizona better get to liking the taste of urine.
By the end of October, a loaf of bread will probably cost $20.00.
Beef/bacon/chicken: $30.00/lb (livestock eat 1/3 of the grain produced in the US)
We'll need to charge more than that...that's what they're going to cost here.

INSR5 - Im Jeffersonville, IN - just this side of Louisville, KY.
Unfortunately, my Runners a 2WD.
I dont think I'd be showing the Jeeps too much besides the proper technique for towing a 2WD out of the mud.

Not to sound too sarcastic or anything, but the most proven way to increase your gas mileage is to change your driving habits, drive light-footed or drive less.

There are a few mods that may help the mpg a litte, (intake mods, tires, alter driving habits, etc) but outside of buying a Prius, there's not much you can do.

yeah it's the simple things that make a big difference. drive with a light food, keep tires properly inflated, and don't drive excessively. sure you can do mods, but they'll only help so much (maybe 1 or 2 more miles per gallon?) plus they cost money. correct me if i'm wrong anyone...

hey did you guys see that ad or commericial, i don't know which one it is, it just showed up on my AOL cable sign on screen saying that SUV owners are contributing to the Iran or Iraq or something like that because we buy much more gas then everyone else, well they called SUV gas guzzelers, but I'm pretty sure there's one FORD van that only gets like less than 10 MPG, so we're not that bad off. I can't believe they let someone get away with writing something like that! Makes me angry!

by that logic...think of how many papers it must have taken to write those scripts. so they had to go to the local office supply store to get those papers. how did that store get its stock of papers? from trucks delivering it from a distributor/manufacturing plant. trucks get pretty lousy milage. TERRORISTS!
or how about getting the actors to the studio to film the ads? that's just extra drivng for them. which means extra gas. TERRORISTS!
granted, there are a few SUVs out there that don't need to be, but there are plenty of folks who actually use them as intended and for a purpose.
