fuel rail 3vze

here is another problem with my 3vze engine if someone could help. I broke a stud off top of intake where fuel rail attaches. Will the stud come out of the intake for replacement or am I doomed and must replace the intake? Also, do the injectors just push into the rails?

Some knowledgeable people in this forum. Can you help?

Thanks,

Depends on if the stud screwed into the intake or if it was molded on as part of the intake itself. If it was the first, then you can drill it and thread in a screw extracter to back it out. Then replace it with a new stud. If it's the second, you might could get it welded back on if you take the intake off. Careful with that though, cuz it IS fuel.

Thanks Chris, I tried with locking pliers and it wouldn't budge. It looks as if they are molded in, but then I can't really tell well enough to be sure.

Maybe hit it with a few shots of PB Blaster and let it soak a while?

They're not molded in, they're threaded studs. I can't remember how many studs hold down each side of the fuel rail, it's at least 2 maybe 3. If it's 3 then I would just look into only attaching the rail with 2 studs and evaluate if it will be sufficient to hold things together.
