fuel mods at altitude???

alright so its looking like im probably gonna get my friends 2000 supercharged, headered, exhaust 4runner soon and was wondering if i could use gadgets kit on it without running into reverse pinging if their is such a thing (too much fuel not enough air) were up here in co so that will probably make a difference.

btw going from driving automatic n/a to his 5speed blowed runner is amazing soooo much power.
thanks

Hey Dex,
There is no such thing as reverse pinging. The reason for Gadget's kit is that there is too much air being supplied by the blower and not enuf gas being supplied by the fuel injection. If the EFI can't keep up you get a lean condition which causes the ping (too much air, not enuf gas). You always want the limit to be on the air delivery side not on the fuel delivery side. Otherwise some serious damage can result. If you are at very high altitudes (like Denver, etc) you may be ok because the blower is not able to deliver as much air to the engine. If you get pinging, do the mods for sure.

Yeah, just like Jamie said. When I used to race we called too much fuel "loading up."

Like some fart-can Civic going down the track spewing black smoke. We would always say, "dude, did you see that B16 Hatch squeezin at low R's? He was loadin up so bad!"

You could make charcoal briquettes from home-dudes exhaust pipe soot.

Not sure what that had to do with anything...

Hehehehe.....yeah true, that was brutal sometimes!.....but at least everyone has AC!
Up here AC is like a luxury and it is so humid you just sweat for days.

I need to find myself a job where I can be a total snowbird at age 30.
