fuel injectors on 2.7L

Looking to upgrade the fuel injectors on a 2.7L that belongs to my buddy. What are the stock flow on the injectors? He is looking at a set of 440cc injectors. Is there much heat build up or higher EGT's. I've suggested running a pyrometer before, and after. What are safe numbers, or do we need to even worry about this, since there is no turbo. I've never done a set of injector in one of these trucks, but I've done dodge diesels a number of times. So I figure it shouldn't be that difficult. thanks, Sean.

Maybe I should clear up my questions a little bit. Will oversize injectors help, or is this not a mod. worth considering, since it's naturally aspirated? What flow are the stock injectors, in CC's? What are the risks of running bigger injectors?

Thanks in advance.

Larger injectors are totally unecessary for that N/A engine. In fact, if you were to put a wideband unit on that truck, you would see that in open loop, it is probably running very rich as is. They all do.

Even if you were to try and run larger injectors, the stock ECM will try and lean them out to achieve the 14.7 AFR in closed loop and will not be able to. You will have to at least install a piggyback fuel controller to be able to dial back the big injectors.

Now if he is planning to go forced induction, that is another story. He will need extra fuel but understand that even then he will still need some kind of controller to make them work.
