Fuel injector yet again....
I just had my 4th fuel injector go bad in 2 years. I have a question for you all. Does anyone know if the fuel injector from the newer 3.4l (99 and up) are interchangable with the 3.4l of the 96-98. I can get a set of fuel injectors off of a 2001 3.4l, however the fuel injectors changed in 1999. If the injectors will work I can just go pick up the fuel injectors and fuel rails and swap them out. Does anyone know the specs fro the the two sets of injectors?

These injectors were cleaned professionally about 2 years ago. The injector is on it's way out. the Ohm reading is off the chart. The readings should be between 12-15 this particular one reads about 55. just to make sure my Ohm reading isn't misreading I tested number 1 and it read 13.4. With my past experience with the injectors I knew what to look for. Originally I had all injectors pulled and sent out. While being tested, one was dead and one on it's way out. So I bought 2 to replace them and the other 4 were serviced and flow tested and matched. A few months later another injector died. So I replaced it. Now I have one on it's way out. I already checked the spark plug and it looks fine.
** As it turns out, after reading my prior postings, this is the same fuel injector I replaced in December of 2006. So now I wonder if it is failing or just clogged as it was a replacement from the recyclers. **

Are you getting a CEL? If so what code? Where are you sending your injectors to?
I ask because I have a pesky CEL and process of elimination is leading me to fuel injectors/pressure. Just haven't had time to dig into that yet.

I have a P0303. I am not sending it out, however I sent them out back in 2006. I sent them to a place in Arizona. Here is the link http://www.accurateis.com/. There are other places that other members have used.

Well I heard back from Gadget at URD and as he put, in 99 Toyota switch from Denso to Aisin which is the reason for difference in appearance. I picked up a set of six from the local recycler Rancho Toyota Truck and SUV. I will be installing them late tonite after I get home from work.

Great news so far, after 2 hours of labor I replaced all my injectors and she ran fine. I will do a little more driving later in the morning, but I am very optimistic. All 6 injectors Ohm'd out at about 14.4 each. They were a direct replacement no adjustment needed.

Well, wouldn't you know it, my excitement was a litte premature. As it turned out, I never thought to look at the o-rings before the install. As you may have guessed, I started her up this morning to take my son to school and She was peeing out that $4.46/gallaon right onto the driveway. So 8:30 this morning I was at it again. I swapped out the o-ringts with some good one from my old injectors and got her all back toegther again. And guess what, she again started peeing out that $4.46/gallon gas right back onto the driveway. Whe I took her apart again, I realized that when I was putting the injectors into the fuel rail, I was not doing it right, somehow I was messing up the o-rings. Well as the saying goes, 3rd times a charm. So far so good. I gave her a test run and she is keeping the gas in. And ti think I only spent 6 additional hours on fue injectors.

I'm currently around 209K. I'm hoping for more luck with these injectors. Overall no major problems to date.
Tell me about it. I would much rather do it right the first time and not jump into her 2 or in my case 3 times. Lesson learned.
