Help!

Anyone have advice on removal and replacement (short of stripping the air intake plenum) of the referenced fuel filter.

Obnoxiously difficult access for a part that requires routine maintenance.

There are some threads on this subject already. Might want to search some to find them, but here is a quick rundown of the process.

You need to jack the fuel filter side of the truck up, remove the tire, and work through the wheel well. First, loosen the bolts for the fuel lines on the filter. You can get to one from the engine bay with a standard wrench (17mm). The second one is tougher to get to and a stubby wrench is the better choice, although I had to take the fuel line loose from the top of the engine and pull the filter line and all out before I could get that one loose.

To get the bolts loose that hold the filter to the engine you are going to need a ratchet with some long extensions and universal joint to remove the bolts holding the filter to the block. I also bought a set of magnet inserts for the sockets so it would hold the bolts in place. They really do come in handy.

Its not easy, but it is doeable. After I did it the first time, I know a second time will go much better.
